Teaching Style and Biography

The first step in improving one’s game is evaluating each student’s swing and ball flight.  This is done by determining each individual’s personal learning style, i.e. auditory, visual, or kinesthetic.  Beginning with the basic golf fundamentals, small changes can be made to improve ball contact and ball flight thereby allowing the golfer to be more consistent on the golf course and find the fairway more often.  Just understanding how to practice and the swing changes being worked on will greatly improve your game. Another very informative tool to improve one’s game is video swing analysis.  It provides golf students with a true picture of their setup and swing.  It also gives the instructor a powerful tool for explaining the changes she wants you to make.  A video camera is used to tape your swing, where the instructor can draw lines and angles on the video to illustrate the proper setup and swing positions.  Frame by frame, your swing can be analyzed and replayed, and any trouble spots identified that might be causing you to make inconsistent contact.  It is the instructor’s job to analyze your swing, then choose one or two drills that will help you achieve the most overall improvement.

Prior to joining the staff at the Golf Club at Champions Circle as Head Teaching Professional, her experience included tenures at Hank Haney’s Golf Ranch, Sky Creek Ranch,  Grayson Community College, Doral Tesoro Golf Course, and Hawk’s Creek Golf Course.  She studied the swing plane theory under the guidance of Hank Haney and mastered the techniques of the short game from numerous Dave Pelz golf schools.

Her specialty includes video swing analysis for individuals and corporate outings.  “The computer program allows the golfer to see his/her own swing.  It provides instant feedback.”  This technology has taken teaching to a new level.
